Results of the Student Feedback Questionnaire
MATH 3J04 (Engineering Mathematics III) - September, 2000

20 students out of 31 in the class filled and submitted the online student feedback form. The results are displayed below in percentage from the number of students participated in the survey. Thanks to all for suggestions and comments!

2.1. The material for lectures is


45% - adequate to the course outline and is of my interest
40% - adequate to the course outline but does not fit to my interests
15% - inadequate, too theoretical, no connections to my interests at all
0% - inadequate, too simple, does not bring anything new to me

2.2. Combination of theory and numerical (computer) methods is


50% - adequate, it opens new prospects to my education
50% - adequate but too superficial, less material should be covered
0% - inadequate, I like to see only computer methods, no theory
0% - inadequate, I like to see only theory, no computer methods

2.3. What would you suggest for organizing the course in future?


40% - add more courses on Matlab programming before this course
35% - no suggestions or reformations, all is OK as it is
15% - all theoretical lectures should be replaced by computer tutorials
5% - lectures and tutorials should be taken over the Web

3.1. Your suggestions on the speed of lectures:


70% - speed is too fast, spend more time for each example
25% - speed is adequate, continue as it is
5% - speed is too slow, give more examples and/or theory

3.2. Your suggestions on tutorials:


60% - one or two problems should be described for general audience
25% - tutors should help individual groups of students with their individual questions
15% - tutorials should be organized in a computer lab rather than in classrooms
